David Reis*

David K. Ries serves as General Counsel for HCS, as well as a Legal Consultant to HCS clients.  David was inspired to pursue a law degree after years of working at social service organizations in New York City.  This experience included managing client intake for a substance abuse treatment program servicing youth moving in and out of New York City’s juvenile justice system. 

Prior to joining HCS, David was a solo-practitioner who handled California state court appeals.  Until 2008, he was a law clerk in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, providing him experience with areas of litigation such as employment disputes, medical malpractice, Social Security disability, civil rights claims, intellectual property, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and even maritime law.   David received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School, where he graduated with honors and served as an editor of the school’s Journal of Law & Policy.   David received his Bachelor’s Degree from Vassar College, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
