Jeanene Martin*

Jeanene Martin is Senior Vice President, Human Resources at WakeMed Health & Hospitals, located in Raleigh, North Carolina.  She is responsible for Employee Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Occupational Health, Employee & Executive Compensation, Employee Relations, Diversity & Inclusion, Workforce Development, Talent Acquisition, Staff Development, Nursing Education, Simulation Learning, HRIS, Volunteer Services, Guest Services and Retail Services.  Prior to joining WakeMed Health & Hospitals she held Director and Vice President of Human Resources positions at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh NC and Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany Georgia, respectively. 

In addition to her executive responsibilities, she served on the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration board from 2003 – 2009, including holding the offices of Vice President, President and Immediate Past President.  She has been active in the NC Healthcare Human Resources Association where she held multiple offices, including President and Immediate Past President.  She currently serves on a number of other community boards and committees, working closely on workforce development initiatives.

She holds a Senior Professional Human Resources Certification, a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of NC at Chapel Hill, as well as a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University.
